Kesselring Vineyards is family owned, located in Kindred, North Dakota. We are the only commercial vineyard in the world that commercially grows Riverbank Grapevines (Vitis Riparia) and have dedicated ourselves for the last 20 years to the cultivation and viticulture of North America's wildest native grape. This primal grape was first acknowledged in 1000 A.D. by the Vikings in their Vinland (Wine-land) Sagas. Vinland is the name they gave to North America in tribute to these grapes and the wine they produced. North Dakota is the origin and home to many of their descendants and all of our vines which thrive in some of the most extreme fluctuations on the planet -60 degrees F in the dead of winter to a blazing 120 degrees F at the height of summer. Created by frost and fire our vines are hardy and can survive these extreme temperatures just as our ancestors did. Harvest arrives late usually occurring just before Halloween after the first severe frost of the season.
