From rock-strewn Kansas soils comes our 2021 Traminette, a wine that proves this aromatic French-American hybrid has found an ideal home in the Midwest. Crafted from grapes grown at Wild Hare Vineyard in the Kaw Valley region, this sophisticated white wine undergoes a 24-hour cold soak to enhance its aromatic intensity, followed by careful fermentation and partial aging in American oak for nine months. This balanced approach honors both the grape's heritage as a cross between Gewürztraminer and Joannes Seyve 23.416 grapes, while allowing its distinctive character to shine. A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine, roasted poultry, and creamy cheeses.
The label, designed by Skyler Schlageck, tells the story of Karl, our vintner's beloved family dog, whose adventures included a peculiar appetite for both rocks and ripe Traminette grapes straight from the vine. His mischievous spirit and grape-loving nature earned him the playful nickname "Karl's Bad."
