Our 2022 Chambourcin proudly represents Kansas' official state red wine grape, a French-American hybrid that has found an ideal home in the Kaw Valley region. Crafted from grapes grown at Rappaho Vineyard in Vinland, Kansas, this elegant wine undergoes a carefully controlled fermentation process followed by nine months of aging in special hybrid barrels. These unique barrels, featuring American oak staves and French oak heads, honor both the grape's French breeding program heritage and its Kansas home. A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with pizza, premium grilled meats, and local artisanal cheeses. Label Designer: Ed Irvine Jr.

This maturing vintage of Chambourcin demonstrates an evolution in complexity, leading with pronounced oak integration that frames the wine's characteristic fruit profile. The nose opens with familiar bright raspberry and strawberry notes, now enhanced by a more assertive presence of toasted oak and rich caramel. The signature fruit leather notes remain, harmoniously balanced with cherry undertones and refined cedar accents. The 2022 vintage showcases a more robust structure than its predecessor while maintaining the varietal's inherent elegance, offering a compelling expression of both winemaking craft and terroir.
