Helderberg Meadworks is a family owned and operated craft meadery in upstate NY. We are one of a precious few wineries in the state who only produce mead. Owner and meadmaker Peter Voelker has been making a variety of meads for many years. In 2010 he decided to open the meadery with his wife Kirsten to share what many consider the best mead in the country. While many of you have no doubt seen and tasted the commonly available meads, very few have tasted mead like ours. Customers often describe it as "Old World" mead reminiscent of their ancestral family recipes from Europe.
