Back in December our friends from @pontoonbrewing paid us a visit here in Tampa. Sean and crew said they wanted to do something that pushed the boundaries.
A concept was born called 3x3. Three different fruits meet three different woods. The mead features Quince from South America, Black Raspberries from the Pacific Northwest and wild Blueberries from Canada. It’s was blended with Brazilian Quince Blossom honey then aged on a blend of American, French and Brazilian Oak (aka Amburana).
Dark red in color. Black Raspberry all day on the nose. Jammy fruit from the black raspberries and lush tannins and sweetness from the blueberry. Bookended by the Quince which brings some flavors which come across as a mix of apple and pear in the background.
