Edf-Clif vineyards is named from its scenic view overlooking the Fourche a Renault stream in Washington County, Missouri. The stream was aptly named for a French pioneer citizen, Philip Francois Renault, who would be thrilled to know that this picturesque spot would one day be planted to exceptional vines of Chambourcin, a French-American hybrid. Here, generations of pasture have enriched the deep, silty loam soils making perfect conditions for winegrape-growing. The 2021 vintage expresses deep pomegranate, black cherry, wild sage and cocoa nibs on the nose. The inviting aromas quickly deceive you with a vibrant, energetic palate finishing into chalky, long tannins and a pop of fresh red currant.
